A very decorative and useful late Chinese Qing Dynasty freestanding cabinet from the late 19th Century. The cabinet has hand painted polychrome scenes throughout including the back and top with blossoming trees and birds with gilded highlights and all set against a black lacquer ground. The cabinet consists of 4 small drawers above 2 cupboard doors with 2 full width folding doors below. The original brass handles of axehead form with Chinese motifs and the whole raised on stylised claw and ball feet with shaped friezes. A striking cabinet and unusually decorated on all 4 sides and top. In very good condition with a couple of very minor bumps and bruises. Dimensions:- Height…42.25’’/ 107cm. Width…40’’/ 101.5cm. Depth…22’’/ 56cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £55.
