Late Victorian 22ct Victorian MIZPAH Love Token Ring
This ring is a delightful example of the Victoria taste for sentimentality.
The word "Mizpah" is the Hebrew name for "Watchtower" and is taken from the biblical story of Jacob and Laban relaying the sentiment -'The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent, one from another'.
The "Mizpah" message became popular in the Victorian era and was used extensive on love token antique jewellery items.
The 6mm wide band is mounted in 22ct Gold with a clear Birmingham assay mark for 1896, and is in very good condition and weighs 5.53 grams.
With a ring has a size of P leading edge, but could be adjusted in own workshops if required.
