An impressive late Victorian Arts & Crafts Aesthetic oak bookcase cabinet by the renowned makers Edwards & Roberts. This substantial and highly decorative piece features a moulded cornice with pierced cresting above a pair of glazed display doors enclosing adjustable shelves. The lower section is fitted with two drawers above a double cupboard base, all beautifully detailed with geometric and stylised carved decoration characteristic of the Arts & Crafts movement.

Constructed in solid quarter-sawn oak with excellent figuring and warm colour throughout, the cabinet combines strong architectural presence with practical storage. The piece retains a wonderful original patina and period charm. One lower cupboard door has a visible crack, which could be repaired relatively easily if desired, though it does not detract from the overall appearance and usability of the cabinet.
