This is an antique plant stand or torchere dating to the late Victorian era, c.1900.

Raised on a square shaped base with wonderful tones to the light, solid walnut the fluted column is anchored in a collar of concentric turnings.

The smooth dished top is aesthetically pleasing and provides a solid, stable surface. At a height of only 77cm this stand is a useful height not only for a trailing plant but maybe also to place alongside an armchair or as a key or coin dish for the hall.

The walnut has a deep, lustrous shine and the piece proportion, stability and strength.
