Leather and Silver Plate Hip Flask by James Dixon


A handsome antique English hip flask which looks like it has hardly ever been used since made in around 1910 / 1920. The top of the flask is clad in a cognac coloured leather.
The glass flask has silver plated fittings and is made by the top-notch silversmith, James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield, fully marked on the underside of the removable drinking cup and on the flask collar. The underside of the cup also indicates the capacity of the flask as 3/8 Pint and is also marked "Made In England".
The lid has a bayonet style hinged lid requiring a twist and lift action revealing the original cork within the interior of the lid.
Excellent condition measuring 5 1/4" tall x 3" wide x 1" deep.
