Leonard Pike (1887-1959)

Signed Leonard Pike bottom right corner, with his name, title of painting and address inscribed on a label attached to the back of the frame.

Leonard Pike painted in oils and water-colour. He was born in London, educated in Harrogate and studied at Worcester School of Arts and Crafts where he later taught for many years. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and at the Paris Salon, the R.I., R.B.A., R.S.A., G.I., and in various galleries in the provinces. Pike lived in Worcester in two caravans, one of which he used as a studio. He died on 30th June 1959.
