A superb matching pair of Liberty & Co Arts and Crafts tiger or quartersawn oak chairs by William Birch of High Wycombe designed by architect E G Punnett.
Beautifully crafted with wonderful tiger effect graining, the elongated tapered back supports with heart form handle cut-outs and heart shaped contoured seats with angled and tapered legs and exposed dowel joints exhibit pure arts and crafts architectural styling and principles.
Both the legs and chair backs are cleverly supported and the chairs have good weight and are comfotable in use. Employing Punnett's ingenious design principles the chairs are sturdy yet delicate with true architect beliefs and principles.

Dimensions:- 85cm height (45cm seat height) x 40cm width x 40cm depth
Condition: In excellent condition with no damage with only age related wear.
