Locally Decorated Swansea Teacup & Saucer c1816

We have for sale a lovely and rather rare locally decorated Swansea teacup and saucer c1816-17.
This highly translucent Swansea duck egg porcelain teacup and saucer is simply hand painted with pink roses in the manner of William Billingsley and his famed wash out technique on a white ground with blue rims. The cup and saucer are both unmarked.
The cup is 2.5 inches (6.3cm) high, whilst the saucer is approximately 6 inches (just over 15cm)in diameter. Both the cup and saucer are in a good to very good condition other than some wear to the blue rims and a small firing fault involving lack of glaze to the body (see image 2 to the left of the rose). It was probably this fault that led the cup to be locally decorated for the South Wales market.
