Longcase by Deacon of Barton
This 30 hour antique clock by Deacon of Barton (Barton-in-the-Beans)dates from the first quarter of the 19th century . The Deacon family is very well known for producing many antique clocks both as complete like this or just movements to other makers or retailers .
This attractive example is in very good condition . The golden oak case would have been bought in by Deacon and this example could well have been surplied by a case maker in the town of Uttoxeter as its very similar to other cases from this area . Mainly of Oak it has much mahogany cross banding and its finish looks to be original . The dial is both attractive and also in very good condition with date apature and brass hands .
