Louis XV Kingwood Cabinet Stamped Leonard Boudin

Circa 1760s, Louis XV cabinet, stamped L Boudin. The description as taken from a Christies catalogue dated 29 June 1967, and found inside the cabinet door as follows:
‘A small Louis XV cabinet, with semi-serpentine sides and a marble top, with two cupboard doors, revealing four small drawers and with three drawers below on shaped feet, veneered with quartered mahogany, and mounted with scrolled rococo key plaques and knees cast with scrolled leaves and flowers reaching to similar sabots, stamped L. Boudin JME… Leonard Boudin, maitre in 1761’.
Leonard Boudin (1735-1807) was an independent ébéniste who worked in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine district of Paris until 1767, and examples of his work are in collections ranging from the Royal Collection Trust, the Louvre to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The mark JME to the Boudin stamp refers to the 'jurande des menuisiers-ébénistes', which was made up of elected guild members who approved the quality of the piece.
