Louis XV Rococo Giltwood 3 Section Floor Mirror

An exceptionally beautiful and completely original gilt wood floor standing tri-fold mirror in the high rococo Louis XV style and retaining original and mirror plates in very good condition and original linen fabric to reverse. Hand carved foliate scrolls in the high rococo manner and all resting on short cabriole legs.
The mirror is very heavy and sturdy and opens smoothly on original hinges. There are some darker shadows and marks to the left hand mirror plate but all the plates are sound and in very good condition and all reflect as they should. The hinges original also and with only minor wear to the gilt finish and two very small and old losses to the tips of the central cartouche.
A very rare survivor dating from around 1880 and far better in ‘the flesh’ than our photos can show.
Strongly recommended.
Dimensions are:
Maxiumum when open - 65 inches wide, 2 inches deep and 74 inches high.
When closed for transport - 26 inches wide, 5 inches deep and 74 inches high.
For metric please multiply by 2.5
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
