Late 19th.c. Louis XVI style ‘marquise’ armchair c.1890. With the large low seat and low back typical of the form. A fabulous decorative item with original buttoned silk covers and attractively distressed neo-classical carved and gilded frame with ribbon detail to the top rail and fluted legs. Despite the obvious wear it remains solid and perfectly serviceable, retaining the original wooden barrel castors.
