A wonderful large original oil painting of a lady seated in a room by artist Millicent Lisle Woodforde painted in around 1906. Though the sitter of this painting is unknown, Woodforde was an accomplished artist and best known for her portraits of Gustav Holst and his wife. The Holst portrait is displayed in the National Gallery.
She studied at Herkomer’s Art School in Bushy Herts in 1900 and later at Academies Colarossi and Grande Chaumiere in Paris 1904-5.
This painting is large and impressive at 93cm x 77cm, it is oil on canvas, but the canvas is unstretched and will be shipped rolled. The painting is not signed or dated, but came from a collection of works by Woodforde and passed down the family.

Condition
The condition is poor to fair. Because of the way it has been stored there is a lot creasing to the canvas which has lead to paint loss. The painting would benefit from being relined and stretchered.
We have a 14 day return policy. We accept returns if item is not as described or generally you are not happy with the item, buyer to pay return postage. Full refund of purchase price on safe return minus postage costs. This is only available within 14 days of receipt of the item.
