DESCRIPTION:
This is a very pretty elegant shop display counter it dates from the 1920s and the quality of the piece is proven by the condition the counter still remains in. The counter is mahogany with ebony banding and is surrounded by a quality brass frame. The counter is accessed by 4 mahogany sliding doors the inside being 4 quarter veneered with the addition of an ogee shaped frame running around the doors internally (see photo) this just screams quality. The counter has four open compartments to the base. The inner display area has a parquetry base all in excellent condition. The counter stands on block legs with adjustable brass feet. All 3 sides and the top has had all new laminated glass fitted making it suitable for public venues. The counter also has its original brass ruler on the back edge of the brass frame. This counter just screams quality and as I have said the condition of the counter given all the use it must have had throughout its life is testimony to this. This counter would suit many environments both commercial as well as domestic many used now as feature centre islands in kitchens as well as being very practical in-home office or studios or commercially in cake or confectionery shops as well as restaurants etc.

WORKSHOP REPORT:
The counter was in fantastic condition when it came in to us, but we did put all new laminated glass in it as a piece of this quality is worth going the extra mile for. It has been given a good polish. There was some signs of old unactive woodworm but was retreated by us as an extra precaution and because we like to be sure what we sell is of the highest standard and don’t want any repercussions we base our name on clients being assured of the quality and standard of our furniture.
