Maple and Co surprise pop up drinks cabinet

This piece of antique furniture came from an age of elegance and sophistication. It was a man's world of servants, dinner jackets and after dinner brandies. Maple and Co serviced the metropolitan wealthy with beautiful expensive and sharply designed antique furniture.
Maple and co's heyday was the Edwardian period to around 1910. Their highly polished, inlay banded cabinet work was excellent and this drinks cabinet was made in their golden age.
The cabinet is wonderfully sophisticated. It is made in choice mahogany and stands on elegantly tapering legs terminating in original quality brass casters. Everything about the cabinet is quality. The legs are inlaid with box wood stringing as are the sides. The top has wide banding which is very opulent.
This is a 'surprise' pop up drinks cabinet. You pull up the top and the sunken cabinet is cantilevered up to reveal an original tantalus of leaded crystal decanters held under lock (no key but open) to safeguard your drink from the servants!!! The tantalus is surrounded by a tray for glasses and accoutrements. Below is a lower shelf for bottles.
This is a beautiful and elegant cabinet. The mechanism works like new. The condition is good antique. Minor chip to one decanter. (I do mean minor.)
The cabinet is 31 inches high and 23 inches deep and 24 inches wide.
