Medieval English Oak Coffer c1500. Panelled form with primitive early linenfold panels to front. The chest retains extensive traces of the original red vermilion paint to the top, front and sides, please study images. Hinges are replaced. Lock plate is late 16th century and a replacement, although a good decorative type with cut out feature. All peg joined, very heavy and solid chest for its size. All original front, sides, top and base boards. Wonderful surface patination to this chest being over 500 years old. Measures 49" wide x 24" high x 21" deep. All major credit and debit cards accepted.
