This is an elegant Mid-Century Pressed Glass Claret Jug with a Silver Plated Handle, Collar and Lid. The glass jug has a diamond pattern on the lower part of the body, a fluted neck and a star pattern on the base. The scrolling handle and lid have beaded detailing. This would add a touch of class to any dining table.

There is no makers' mark so we cannot be specific about the manufacturer but it is stamped EP on Zinc, Silver Plated and Made in England and dates to around the 1950s/60s.

Condition is very good, with no chips or cracks in the glass and just the superficial surface wear to the plated top that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The jug stands 27.7cm / 10.9ins high, is 13.2cm / 5.2ins from lip to handle and 11cm / 4.3ins in diameter at its widest part. It weighs 1,026g / 36.2oz.
