This is a good quality Mid-Century Silver Plate Drinks Tray. The tray has a scalloped rim with gadroon and shell decoration and is engraved in the centre with scrolls, flowers and foliage. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.

The tray was made in Sheffield by Viner's Ltd and dates to around the 1950s/60s. Viner's was founded around 1900 by Adolphe Viener, who later Anglicized his family surname to Viner. Starting out as electroplaters, the firm moved into silverware in the early 1920s. They remained extremely successful up until the 1970s but later had difficulties and ceased trading in the 1980s. The Viner's brand name is now owned by Oneida.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The drinks tray is 31.6cm / 12.4ins in diameter, 1.1cm / 0.43ins high and weighs 615g / 21.7oz.

The underside of the tray is marked VINERS, SILVER PLATED, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND.
