Mid-Century Silver Plate Toast Rack, Falstaff

This is a good quality Mid-Century Silver Plate Four Slice Toast Rack. The oval base of the rack stands on four bun feet and the dividers are shaped as a slice of bread. The roughly triangular handle is attached to the middle divider.
The toast rack was made in Birmingham by A.E. Williams & Sons as part of their Falstaff range and dates to around the 1950s/60s. The firm was founded by Arnold E Williams at the Arnewill Works, Vyse Street, Birmingham in 1927, later becoming A.E. Williams & Sons. They registered the brand name Falstaff for their silver plate in 1949 and also used the brand name Pendragon. In the seventies they moved most of their production to Spain and ceased trading in the late eighties.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and no significant plate loss, just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The toast rack is 11.2cm / 4.4ins long by 7.1cm / 2.8ins wide and stands 11.6cm / 4.5ins high. It weighs 138.2g / 4.9oz.
The underside of the base is stamped Falstaff, E.P.N.S, England.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
