An unusual and scarce item. This Staffordshire enamel bodkin case dates to around 1760. It has a white ground with powder blue dotted decoration. There are three beautifully hand-painted cartouches decorated with peacocks. The decorative brass collar is also in excellent condition and the pull-off top pushes on with a good fit.
