It was common practice at this time to set the gems in platinum with a gold shank.

Oval cut sapphire.

It is a clear dark medium blue with good saturation.

Brilliant cut diamond surround of approximately .30ct.

Size Q.

Approximate dimensions: sapphire 5.4mm x 7.5mm, setting 9.6mm x 11.8mm, shank: 1.9mm wide and 1mm thick, weight3.2 grams.
