Mid Victorian 2 over 4 Chest of Drawers
Upcycled Mid Victorian 2 over 4 chest of drawers.
It had been painted with white gloss which we have stripped away to reveal a lovely mahogany grain.
The carcass of the chest is pine with a mahogany veneer. We painted the carcass with Farrow and Ball Railings, a lovely black/blue.
The drawers are primarily oak with a pine front with a mahogany veneer. We used a hard wax/oil on the drawer fronts and waxed.
We also replaced it's missing feet!
It's a very solid and heavy piece of antique furniture but not without its foibles, was at one time split in half obviously to get through a narrow entrance and probably when it was bought new! There are surface scratches to the drawer fronts where they had been badly prepared for the gloss paint! There are some splits in the veneer here and there but hey, she is an old lady around 150/170 years old! The top also has a split in the veneer.

Please bear in mind that this is an old and used piece of antique furniture. We have cleaned it, painted it and waxed it. On a piece like this it is always advisable to line the drawers with scented drawer liners before adding your clothes, we cannot make an old piece like this smell like a brand new piece of furniture.

Sending parcels abroad we use parcel2go, we always fully insure each parcel and use signed for delivery.

RETURNS...
We will gladly accept returns within 14 days of delivery if the item is not as described or broken in transit.
