Miniature apprentice oak chest of drawers 19th C

This is a large apprentice piece - a Georgian-style figured oak chest of two short and three long drawers dating from 19th Century. An orange has been placed in two of the photographs to demonstrate scale
This table top sized piece would have beautifully demonstrated the craftsmanship of the cabinet maker. The fact that it is in oak would suggest a provincial workshop.
The oak veneers, which have been chosen for their attractive figuring, are thick, and this, taken together with the style, would indicate an Early 19th Century date or earlier.
Drawer fronts have dovetail joints. The drawer edges have been scored to simulate beading. The drawers have brass knob handles and are lined in pine.
The chest stands on bracket feet. The back is boarded and nailed.
