Miniature Library of 4 Books in Book Tray C.1838.
This is a fascinating and very attractive miniature library housed in a purpose made book tray dating to around 1838. The library comprises of 4 books:
- The Little Classic & Chronological Companion – 1836
- The Little Gazetteer or Geographical Dictionary – Maunder C.1838
- The Little Lexicon – Maunder – 1838
- The Little Linguist or a Complete Guide to English Philology – 1838
The books are all unfirmly bound in cloth boards and housed in an oak book tray that has a slight tramp art look to it. I can find no other examples of all 4 books together as a library. Given the dates I assume some to be first editions. The tray is 16.5cm x 10.5cm
Condition.
The condition is fair. There are some condition issues with the binding. The boards and in some cases the spines are starting to come away from the binding. I assume that Little Classic and Little Gazzetter once had frontispieces. The Little Lexicon is missing both front and back boards, there is a board present, but seems a little too big for the book.
We have a 14 day return policy. We accept returns if item is not as described or generally you are not happy with the item, buyer to pay return postage. Full refund of purchase price on safe return minus postage costs. This is only available within 14 days of receipt of the item.
Any items that are picked up must be paid in cash.
