Mixed Media - Calpe Spain - R Nicholson1964
An original mixed media abstract landscape painting titled ' Near Calpe, Spain'. Painted and signed by Robert Nicholson in 1964 as part of his artistic record of places he visited.
Robert Nicholson is better known for the guidebooks he created in the 1960’s that continue to be produced today and still bear his name, but he was also a keen and capable artist.
Having studied at the Medway Art School he later set up an interior design business with his brother. They won a commission for design work on the Festival of Britain exhibition in Edinburgh. Their continued collaboration won them numerous important interior design commissions.
Robert moved away from design and into publishing, creating his first guidebook in 1966. Later having sold the guidebook business he dedicated much more of his time to painting. Developing a signature style of abstract landscape painting often in bold colours of the places he visited around Europe.
The measurement of the mount is 76cm x 57cm and the image measures 48cm x 32.5cm.
We are selling a number of his works this week which look stunning on their own or combined together would make a striking display.

The condition of this painting is very good.
We have a 14 day return policy. We accept returns if item is not as described or generally you are not happy with the item, buyer to pay return postage. Full refund of purchase price on safe return minus postage costs. This is only available within 14 days of receipt of the item.
