Attractive, engraved mother-of-pearl and abalone pocket notebook c1880. Front has an engraved central diamond-shaped panel with fine abalone border - surrounded by further mother-of-pearl tiles and abalone detail to corners. Back cover with diagonally set mother-of-pearl tiles. White metal clasp. Internally lined in blue moire fabric. Cord to locate booklet. Supplied with three replacement booklets which are all handmade from a quality grade of plain paper. Details for booklet supplier also included. Notebook measures 9.5 by 6.5 cm.
This pocket notebook is in excellent condition commensurate with age. No loss of pieces to front or back which all secure. Extremely minor signs of age. The notebook has been re-lined in blue moire and includes new booklets. Please see images as these form an important part of the description. Viewing by appointment only.
