Nude by Douglas Hofmann. A fine semi nude lady under a shawl. Painted by Douglas Hofmann 156/395. Signed by the Artist.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1945 Douglas Hofmann attended grade school through high school in his hometown. After high school he enrolled in a business college in Baltimore only to leave after a month questioning his career choice. He started to work at a local department store as a window trimmer where, Hofmann says he learned about colour design.
Hofmanns works have been exhibited in numerous group and one-man shows at prestigious galleries and museums, in every major city USA and Japan, many of which have sold out completely during their opening nights. He has received numerous awards for his works, including first prize at the Peale Museum in Baltimore, 1970 "Best Paintings in the Traditional Manner" at the Baltimore Museum. 1971/72/73/78 "Best in Show". In 1988 he was awarded a certificate of merit for his painting the secret by the Salmagundi club at its eleventh annual non members juried exhibition.
