A square dial, 8-day longcase clock by Carter of Salisbury. The painted dial has gilt decoration to the corners, Roman numerals, a date aperture and the name Carter of Sarum, this being the old English name for Salisbury. The movement strikes hourly on a bell. The oak case has fruitwood crossbanding to the trunk door and fruitwood columns to the hood and frieze. To the top of the hood there is a dentil cornice
