Exceptional 'Lit-Clos' - French Oak - c1800
A stunningly presented Breton Enclosed-Bed in gorgeous French Oak.
Offering wonderful scope to use as a linen storage press, TV hideaway, feature piece, kitchen dresser, wardrobe or display cabinet.
The piece presents superb hand carving detail throughout with floral themes the side panels and intricate work across the entire front. Acorns, oak leaves, sunbursts, berries, wheat-sheaves and climbers all entwine producing a magnificent antique.
Twin sliding doors open to reveal the interior with lower and mid-shelf. The doors feature bobbin rings over and below three rails of turned bobbin 'soldiers'. This door styling repeats to the front panels. The turned bobbins are evident to the top rail and in total the piece has 649 throughout the cabinet - all present and correct.
The piece is in excellent condition throughout. The oak displays exceptional colour and warmth of tone. Overall a fine example and a truly beautiful and desirable antique.
The cabinet can be de-constructed for ease of access into properties. For the U.K. this piece will be delivered and installed by our own team of craftsmen. We offer Worldwide shipping.
