Oak Hall Bench with 19th.c. Carved Cherub’s Heads. %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Unusual short oak bench or hall seat topped with a beautiful pair of carved heads of cherubs with folded wings. Made using old timbers, the heads themselves and the shaped ends are probably of early 19th.c. ecclesiastical origin. Joined with a thick oak seat and backrest with cupid’s bow shaped top edge and a stretcher with through tenon and tusk joints. Raised on applied sleigh feet. Obvious old wear to the ends, otherwise very good condition, solid and sturdy. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Dimensions: width 47″, depth 14″, height 34″.
