Oak mahogany George III side table desk
Elegant George III side table
Dates to 1820
Made in oak, cross banded in mahogany.
Wonderful condition.

This is a very good side or hall table. It dates to the reign of George III, around 1800 - 1820. I love the simplicity of the design of Georgian antique furniture. There is real elegance in this simplicity. The side table is made in oak. It is crossbanded in mahogany on the top and around the central drawer. The central drawer has original brass drawer handles and the drawer itself is made with dovetail joints. The side table stands on square tapering legs.
The oak is well polished. The condition is good with no sign of damage or worm. The drawer runs well. The side table is made in choice oak, the oak on the legs looks almost like it is pollarded oak, the grain is so busy.
This small table will look wonderful in a principal room with a lamp on top of it or in a hall way or even used as a writing desk. Good piece.
The hall table is 31.5 inches wide and 28.5 inches high and 17 inches deep.
