An oak and brass bound, flush handled campaign box with original Bramah lock and two sectioned interior.

These travelling boxes were manufactured during the mid to late Nineteenth Century for a myriad of purposes but most were for providing security for valuables whilst out on military campaign or for the rich travellers of the period.

Although this example is not marked with manufacturer’s marks, firms such as Hill & Millard were making similar examples during the Victorian period.
