A very good quality oil on canvas painting after the famous work by Jean-Baptiste Greuze entitled: 'A Child with an apple' and painted in the late eighteenth century. This work will have been painted in the later part of the nineteenth century after the original was given to the nation. The painting is in very good condition, it has been professionally cleaned and lined. The painting is mounted in a late nineteenth century gilt frame, also in good condition. C.1890.
