Michel Katzaroff (1891-1953)
Fine Oil Portrait of a young girl dated Paris 1930. Oil on canvas. Signed M Katzaroff. In its original frame carved.
Michel Katzaroff (Mincho) is a painter born in 1891 in Brezovo Bulgaria.
He lived for a time in Vienna and then to Paris, where he died in 1953. Michel Katzaroff began to paint portraits of Ludwig van Beethoven to 1931.
In 1946, he exhibited 36 paintings on the theme of Ludwig van Beethoven, the gallery la Boétie (Paris 8th). He held other exhibitions in Paris and throughout the provinces.
These portraits were published as postcards at least twice: just before the Second World War and in Paris 1945-1946.
A skilfully executed work which captures the innocent looking girl sitting for the artist.

Good order for the age having a small blemish below signature as shown.
Some slight craquelure within blue dress.Canvas re-varnished and frame re-gilded.
