An interesting still life oil on canvas depicting a bowl of herrings with lemon and parsley. The painting is worked to a very high level with great detail but also life and freshness. The painting is monogramed and dated 1938. The painting retains the original exhibition label on the reverse for the federation of midlands art societies exhibition, and the artists name Mrs D Ball. The painting is mounted in the original pine frame with gilt slip, and the whole is in excellent conditon. A great still life work, that would be lovely in a kitchen.
