Vintage Ola Gorie Scottish sterling sliver zoomorphic brooch,Edinburgh 1984.A design based on a late 11th century wood carving on a stave church at Urnes,Song,Norway.This design shows a stylised stag with a serpent at it's throat under "Yggdrasil" the "World Tree",symbolising the fight between good & evil.Fully marked on reverse and in superb condition.Meaures - 2 x 1inch/5cm x 3cm.
