Oriental Painted Cabinet ORIENTAL PAINTED CABINET SOAPSTONE %%alt5%%
ORIENTAL PAINTED CABINET WITH CARVED SOAPSTONE DECORATION.
A top quality oriental painted cabinet depicting life and showing birds and symbols of day to dat life.

All the detail on the panels is hand painted with the finest of brushes both on all the outside panells as well as inside the doors. The onlay decoration is all finished in hand carved coloured soapstones and soft marble and is then painted on top with more detail. The cabinet is telling a story.

This cabinet dates from 1900-1920 and is in good condition for its age. With plenty of open storage inside.Ther are five small drawers to the front and the top cabinet separates and lifts off the base section for ease of moving.
The black painted finish is performed on top of a strong plaster mix which is applied to the wood for a smooth finish prior to painting.
There are alot of areas that are finely painted to mimic an inlay of mother of pearl.Ref 0021
