Ettore Tito is a very well regarded and well exhibited painter from Italy. He was a member or the Royal Academy of Italy and exhibited across the world, he won a large number of prizes and medals for his paintings. Tito was renowned for his depictions of everyday life and his paintings have always been highly prized and sit in many national collections.
Painting Details
This is one of 4 prints created in 1927 using a Pochoir technique ( use of a stencil to create the black outline, then hand colouring with watercolour). The painting is from a set of 4 prints called the “Quatre Proverbs” published in 1927 for a French magazine, this was an open print run. The pictures depicted emancipated women looking after themselves. This picture roughly translates as “ He who grasps at too much losses everything”.
The painting is offered in a modern Art deco style frame
