WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!
This is an original open-face keyless wind silver (0.800) Omega pocket watch made in Switzerland circa 1898.
This watch just came back from my watchmaker and is in excellent working condition. However, due to its antique nature, we cannot guarantee precise accuracy.
DIAL: The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals with outer minute divisions, beautiful golden chased hands and a subsidiary second’s dial at the six. It is signed in the upper centre "OMEGA" and protected by an original glass.
MOVEMENT: The high-grade fifteen jewels anchor movement has a plain cock with a polished steel regulator and a club foot lever escapement with a compensation balance wheel. The movement is decoratively signed "OMEGA" on the cock.
CASE: The pocket watch lies in a silver 0.800 open-face case with a monogram-free cartouche. The inner side of the case is stamped Silver 0.800 and numbered 1587274. The outer side of the cuvette shows different medals and is decoratively signed: "OMEGA, Grand Prix, Paris 1900"(See pictures).
Signed: OMEGA
Made in Switzerland circa 1898
Diameter 51 mm Weight 91.70
Omega History: The watch-making firm Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in Le Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In 1880, it moved to its current location in Bienne, Switzerland. At the beginning, the company was not referred to as Omega. The name was later christened in 1894, when a watch model, the “Omega” was launched. Today, One of the world’s better-known watch companies, they have been the official timekeepers for the Olympic Games, since 1932 and have also been supplying American and Russian astronauts with their “moon watch” since 1965 and 1975 respectively. The firm has been a member of the Swatch Group since 1983.
