Oxford Desk Chair High Back By Fritz Hansen 1976

OXFORD DESK CHAIR - ARNE JACOBSEN - FRITZ HANSEN
The ‘Oxford’ desk chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1963 and this original version was produced Denmark in 1976 by Fritz Hansen. This is the executive high back model as seen in ‘The Apprentice’ being sat on by Sir Alan Sugar. We have reupholstered this chair in the finest thick Tan colour Hyde leather and have been careful not to over polish the aluminium frame. The up and down mechanism is working but if a little slow. There is some rusting around the top of the mechanism but hidden well under the seat. The five star base has all original Shepard castors and all running freely. Makers label as in photo is under the seat The Chair was designed for the professors at St Catherines College in Oxford when it had an extension built and all designed by Arne Jacobsen during this groundbreaking period of Modern design.
