An early 19th cent. metal decorated Toleware tea caddy. This has a nautical flavour and is decorated with marine paintings of sailing ships and classical buildings. The inside is tinned and has two compartments with a lock. The original knob on top is brass. This caddy is in remarkably original condition with some defects in the paintwork which can be clearly seen in the photographs. Sizes:4 ½ “(11cms) wide, 3”(7 ½ cms) deep, 5(13cms) high. Date circa 1830. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book. I have therefore made considerable reductions to the prices of most of my stock. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if any items are of interest. Deliveries carried at as normal.
