Unusual pair of late 19th.c. wooden cello cases by the acclaimed English violin and bow makers W.E Hill & Sons of London c.1890. Ebonised cases with matching and original heavy brass handles, hook clasps, hinges and locks. Original velvet lined interiors with bow stays, leather straps and little compartments for extra strings, wax etc. Original maker’s labels for W.E Hill & Sons either side of the locks. Minor wear to the exterior, otherwise excellent condition. Of identical dimensions, would make a great pair of standard lamps!
