Pair Chinese Blue & White Crackle Glaze Vases

A Superb Pair of Antique Chinese Porcelain Vases.
Dating from the second half of the 19th Century, Qing dynasty
Of wonderful, deeply waisted shape and decoration.
These vases are each beautifully painted in a vivid underglaze cobalt blue, depicting birds standing on rocky outcrops and surrounded by large peony blooms, all set against a pale crackle-glaze ground.
Each with faux archaic bronze 'mounts' to the lid, shoulder and foot. The underside base similarly decorated with archaic bronze style impressed marks.
These vases are a mirror pair and display very well indeed.
Please be sure to read the notes regarding the lids (below) ahead of purchase.
Dimensions -
Vase 1) Approx 27 cms tall and vase 2) approx 26.5 cms tall
(One lid slightly larger than the other, hence the difference in height)
Condition -
Both are in excellent overall condition. Note, the lids are not a perfect pair, but are close. One is slightly larger than the other and has a slightly different design to the faux bronze area. One of the lids has a small old blemish / chip away to the rim. Apart from this the vases display very well indeed and the minor difference in lids is only evident when pointed out or when they are positioned unusually close together, for example for the purposes of photography. There is a very, very minor nibble to the upper rim edge / mouth of one vase.
We have up to 50 images on file of these super vases - more images happily supplied ahead of purchase if necessary.
