This is a grand pair of hand carved antique table lions realistically sculpted from solid alabaster. The lions are good sized table or side cabinet pieces crafted after the antique Medici lions now housed in Florence.
The pieces have both had some historic repairs to the legs and tails which have been sympathetically done and are quite solid and robust now. These have loads of character and are realistically modelled with a great stance mounted on grey figured marble bases. They are antique pieces dating from the mid Victorian era circa 1860.
These measure 24 cms high by 22 cms wide by 9 cms deep overall inclusive of the bases.
