Superb pair of late 19th.c Chinese benches of very unusual curved form c.1870. Can be pushed together to make a semi-cicle or an S-shape, ideal as window seats or coffee antique tables perhaps. Traditional construction in solid hardwood with very heavy 1¼” thick tops, note the tell tale marks of hand sawing on the underside. Sturdy frames with simple moulded detail, shaped stretchers and feet. Presented as found with some obvious old wear, otherwise good condition, simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
