Pair of Decorative 19thC Hitchcocks Chair
A fine pair of early American folk art Hitchcock side chairs c1825.
In beautiful condition and retaining their original paint finish they are wonderfully decorative and very pleasing to the eye.
These chairs are not suitable for sitting on due to their age but rather they are pieces of art in their own right and displaying them as such will give superb results. Flanking either side of a dresser or chest on a landing or hallway or as feature pieces in a minimalist setting. Colour and surface are outstanding and the original rope seats are delightful.
Rarely do chairs of such a beautiful design with such characterful and decorative appeal come along.
