This is a very good quality pair of French neo-classical cherry wood inlaid parquetry bedside cabinet antique tables, circa 1900.

This is a very good quality pair of French neo-classical cherry wood inlaid parquetry bedside cabinet tables, circa 1900. Constructed in solid cherry wood with mahogany and satinwood string inlay to the top, fronts and sides. These bedsides also feature stunning parquetry panels to the top and sides. The top of the bedsides feature a useful shaped gallery which helps stop items sliding off the tops. Below, there are three ebony string inlaid hand dovetailed and oak lined working drawers which all feature the original brass knobs. The bedsides sit on elegant tapered legs. They boast the original polish, which is what gives them their lovely patination and colour this has been generated by the years of cleaning and care they have received.
This pair of cabinets would look great in a variety of rooms from the hallway, to the living room or bedroom.
Condition Report
These bedside cabinets are in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the tops and leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Importantly, the bedsides tops are free of watermarks and ink stains to the tops. The drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame. The dovetailed drawer linings are constructed of solid oak. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
