A pair of late 19th century Louis XV style French fauteuils of generous proportions. The frames of serpentine form with drop in seats and standing on cabriole legs with carved detail and scroll toes to the front and back. The shaped backs with subtle carved decoration and removable upholstered inset cushions and the open arms with conforming detail. The frames are in very good condition, all joints are tight, the upholstery is of an interesting Chinoiserie design but is worn and faded, one chair has a small tear in the centre of the back which could be repaired (see photo). If desired these chairs are easily re-upholstered as the seats and back rests can be removed. Sizes:- Height...42''/ 107cm. Width...29''/ 74cm. Max.Depth...31''/ 79cm. Seat Height...18''/ 46cm.
