Pair of Iconic Guy Rogers High Back Armchairs
This is a very stylish pair of 'New Yorker' high back armchairs manufactured in the 1960s by Guy Rogers of Liverpool in superb restored condition with newly upholstered cushions.
The chairs are constructed from solid afromosia (African teak) which has an attractive grain throughout. New Pirelli straps have been added, the foam replaced and covered in a blue 'Abraham Moon' 100% wool fabric.
The chair was designed by Eric Pamphilon (Director of Design at Guy Rogers) and George Freyer for Harold Dykes & family (owners of ‘Guy Rogers’) who retailed almost exclusively through the ‘Heals’ stores. The 'New Yorker' is considered to be the most iconic of their chair designs.

Width (arm to arm): 65cm
Width of Seat: 50cm
Total Depth: 82cm
Depth of Seat: 50cm
Condition: In fantastic restored condition, the framework has been cleaned, oiled and waxed in our workshop. The foam cushions have all been replaced with new ones which fully comply with current fire regulations. The fabric is 'Denim' from Abraham Moon's 'Spectrum' range of Yorkshire-made fabrics. It achieves 40,000+ rubs on Martindale abrasion scale.

We have a trusted delivery man who is a experienced in transporting antiques, pictures and fragile items. He can deliver to most places on mainland England and Wales and, depending on where he is on his schedule, it may take a few days or up to 4 weeks. Other couriers are available for Scotland and North Wales or where a shorter time frame is required. Purchases can also be collected in person from the Tunbridge Wells area in SE England.
