This lovely pair of antique oil lamps are of large proportions. We believe them to date from c.1900 although they may have undergone some alteration over the years. The oil lamps have heavy decorative brass bases, ribbed clear glass reservoirs, glass chimneys and shades, and dual wick brass burners that are impressed 'Bamford'. The chimneys do not quite match.

Condition The oil lamps are in good condition, but do seem to have undergone some alteration over the years. The chimneys do not quite match and we are unsure what parts are original to the bases. The brass bases have some surface scratching and wear, and some polish residue inside the decoration. There is no visible cracking to the glass parts. The reservoirs still contain oil (and this accounts for the orange colour that can be seen in the photographs). The wick winders are stiff, and the mechanisms would benefit from being cleaned. The shade holder on one of the lamps is a little bent. The lamps are overall a little grubby and have some general age-related wear.
